Whiteman Photographic Collection, 1860-1960.

This collection contains a variety of photographic formats including tintypes, lantern slides of Egyptian and Roman architecture, stereographsof 19th century events such as the Chicago World's Fair and scenes of New Hampshire and New York, and a group of 20th century photographs of Afro-American celebrities. The collection also includes scenes of 19th cent. Philadelphia and Schuylkill County; Italian paintings; Russian paintings; portraits of the Lehman family; the architecture of Alhambra, Spain; and the bookbinder, Harry C. Viti. There are photographs of the following individuals; Marjorie A. Costa, Marie Dressler, Lillian Evanti, Katherine Dunham, Eddie Leonard, Bill Kenny, Ethel Levy, Lucky Millinder, Margery Latimer, W.C. Handy, Mary B. Lehman, and John S. Ronig.
